What better way to open up my blog than with the opening of the kiln.  You can see some of my latest endeavors including bottles, iron rubbed tea bowls, and small Taiwanese style tea cups.  I fire to cone 6 in electric (since my gas kiln isn’t built) with a slow cool down to enhance the matte white and blue glaze’s depth and texture.  The brown glaze is very glossy and produces wonderful blue-green rainbows of color when the white is poured over the top.  The large bottle in back is rubbed with cobalt to make the semi-gloss black color.
